Before signing your child up for Taekwondo, choose a class you can get to each week and ask what the first lesson involves. Momentum’s class finder lists the venue, day, time, age group and fee together so you can compare practical options.
Check the age group and weekly journey
Most of our community classes are for children aged 5 and above. Some listings have separate age groups or more than one session time. Allow time to reach the meeting point after school, especially if the venue is an outdoor court or park.
Choose a training format
Community classes follow a regular group schedule. Private lessons let you discuss a smaller group and preferred time and place. Family lessons are for parents and children who want to train together. Students interested in competition can ask about specialised sparring.
Understand the cost before enrolling
Many community listings show S$80 for 8 lessons, while other venues use different rates. Check the fee for your chosen class and ask separately about uniforms, grading and other charges. Private sessions cost S$100 off-peak or S$120 during peak hours for up to five students.

What to expect from learning Taekwondo
Students practise techniques, patterns and fitness exercises. The next belt gives them a training goal, but progress depends on their readiness and practice. See our belt and grading guide for the terms you will hear in class.

Send us your child’s age, previous experience and preferred class. Ask what to wear, what to bring, where to meet and what happens if the weather changes. Please wait for confirmation before attending.
